About

I teach, research, and write about American history and literature, with a focus on the cultural and intellectual history of the nineteenth century. In 2020, I finished my Ph.D. in History at the University of California, Berkeley, and have since taught on the faculty at Bard High School Early College in Washington, D.C and as a Postdoctoral Teaching Fellow at the University of South Carolina. Currently, I am a 2022-2024 Presidential Management Fellow.

I am also working on a book based on my dissertation, “Building America’s Archive, 1776-1876.” I am more than happy to correspond about my teaching and research, as well as with people considering Ph.D.’s in History or various career pathways beyond their Ph.D.
